Gila Bronner (Israel) Comprehensive Care Committee
 

 

 

Gila Bronner is the director of the Sex Therapy Services, at Sheba Medical Center, Israel (since 2004), and the director and supervisor of a sex therapy training program in this hospital. She is also a sex therapist at the Movement Disorders Institute of this hospital, dealing with assessment, treatment of sexual problems among patients and partners, and assisting the staff in coping with sexual issues of their patients. Previously, she was the sex therapist of the neurologic department at the Tel-Aviv Medical Center and led a special sexual-health-promotion project at the movement disorders unit, contributing to a multidisciplinary approach.

From 1984 until now, Gila has been training physicians and health professionals in coping with issues of sexual health promotion, sexual rehabilitation and sex education. In the geriatric and psycho-geriatric hospital, Gila assisted staff members and families to cope with dementia related inappropriate sexual behaviors.

Gila's volunteer work involves board membership of the Israeli Family Planning Association (1985-2000), and the Israeli association of sex therapists (2002-2017). For many years, Gila was an active member of the scientific committees of the European and the World congresses of Sexology.

Gila has published scientific articles, chapters in medical books, sex education books for children, adolescents and elders and articles in the media.
Her international activities include training of physicians and healthcare professionals all over the world (in Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada and USA). Her language proficiency includes: English and Hebrew (very good), German (good), French, Spanish & Polish (fair).
