Dear friends:

On behalf of the World Parkinson Coalition® Steering Committee, Program Committee, Ambassadors, staff and the many other dedicated volunteers, we would like to invite you to join us at the 6th World Parkinson Congress in Barcelona in 2022. This is the first time the WPC is being held in Spain, and just the second time in Europe. It promises to be a great event bringing the whole community together around their common interest in Parkinson’s disease and how to better manage and treat it.

We are excited to offer this unique experience to our friends and colleagues from all over the world in a city with a long history of art, architecture, delicious gastronomy, and culture.

The program which is being brought together by Dr. Patrik Brundin and his committee will offer talks on cutting edge basic and clinical research on Parkinson’s disease as well as novel therapeutics. Through a variety of session formats, the program will highlight new research, models of care, and clinical advances that are changing the lives of those living with Parkinson’s today. Our program committee members have great knowledge of all aspects of Parkinson’s with strong connections to researchers and their local communities as well as a close understanding of advocacy efforts on matters that are important to people living with Parkinson’s. In other words, they will design a program for YOU.

If you are researching Parkinson’s, living with Parkinson’s or providing care to people with Parkinson’s, please do come to this meeting. Starting with the pre-congress courses on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 all the way through the three main days of the program to the closing remarks on Friday, June 10, 2022, you will find many sessions that interest you. The program will include specialized sessions on high-level cutting-edge science, topics of interest to medical and health professionals, issues of particular interest to patients and their care-givers, and crosstalk presentations targeting a mixed scientific, medical, and lay audience. Some sessions will be in large ballrooms, others in smaller rooms for more intimate talks as well as our very popular, and expanded number of small Roundtable talks with just 12 people sharing and learning about specific topics, either scientific or patient-centered, with an expert.

Join us and be updated on the most important aspects of Parkinson’s care and research in a unique forum- the only meeting that truly brings together into one place the entire Parkinson’s community. We encourage anyone researching Parkinson, caring for people with Parkinson, or living with the disease, to meet us at the WPC 2022 - it promises to be an amazing few days! Please read this letter from the local co-chairs.

See you in Barcelona, Spain on Tuesday, June 7, 2022!

Kindest regards,
